Miss Folashade Salako, the best graduating student in the department of Pharmacy in 2019 from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has died after sustaining a head injury in a car crash.

The former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, 45, faces three charges in the death of George Floyd: second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

DANGEROUS: Two traffickers excrete 191 pellets of heroin, cocaine with relative ease in Lagos

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Lagos airport, have nabbed two traffickers who have excreted a total of 191 pellets of heroin and cocaine while under observation.

According to the Director, Media & Advocacy of the agency, Femi Babafemi, one of the suspects, Chukwudi Destiny, was nabbed on Saturday, April 10, 2021, during the outward screening of passengers on Ethiopian airline to Italy. 

He was intercepted and referred for scanning and the scan result proved positive to drug ingestion. Consequently, he was placed under excretion observation and in the process; he excreted 92 pellets of Heroin with a total weight of 1.300Kg.

In the same vein, on Friday 16th of April, 2021, another trafficker, Ezekiel Chibuzo, who arrived Lagos from Brazil on board Qatar airline was also arrested for drug ingestion. He has so far excreted 99 wraps of Cocaine.

Certainly, no region is lying low when it comes to taking their own security in their own hands in Nigeria. South East Governors have recently joined the SouthWest who have since established a security outfit to secure their region.

According to the governors, the security outfit named " EBUBE AGU will have its headquarters in Enugu state. This was the outcome of the security meeting held by the governors on Sunday in Owerri.

According to Dave Umahi, the chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum, this move by the South East governors will definitely boost security in the region.

According to Governor Umahi in his statement, the five South East states had same disposition about insecurity issues as the Federal Government. He said the South East will support the Federal Government to fight terrorism and banditry to a standstill.

He said political leaders of the South East have decided to come together to form a formidable force bringing the arsenal at their disposal to rid their region of bandits and terrorists.

Umahi said that to succeed in this the leadership is bringing together all stakeholders to contribute their quota.

According to him all Security agencies of South East extraction have decided to brainstorm to come up with new ways of tackling crime in the region.

Governor Umahi revealed that security heads have been instructed by the leaders of the state to come up with details of their logistic and material needs so as to procure all that is needed to ensure success in the renewed fight against terrorism and banditry.

A 50-year-old man, Wisdom Okoro, has been arrested for procuring abortion pills for his girlfriend which led to her death.

Police operatives attached to the Ikorodu Division of the Lagos State Police Command arrested the suspect on April 11, 2021, for the sudden death of his girlfriend, identified as Enobong Udoh, 38.

One Blessing Pius, reported to the police that Enobong Udoh, was found dead in her house, along Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, on April 11, 2021, at about 10am.

The police operatives immediately invited her boyfriend, Wisdom Okoro, for interrogation where he confessed that the deceased informed him that she was pregnant in February, 2021 and he was in her house to check on her on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at about 5.14pm.

He said that while he was at her house, Enobong told him that she had terminated her pregnancy. According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the statement and utterances of Wisdom, revealed that he had some questions to answer.
